The home consists of two different centers, the Childkind Center which cares for kids who have suffered abuse, abandonment or neglect, and the Kosiar Charities Pediatric Convalescent Center which is a home away from home for 46 medically fragile children, ages birth to 21.  It is comparable to a nursing home, just for children.  The KCPCC takes care of children who need constant medical assistance that prohibits them to live at home.  However the care at the home goes beyond medical needs of each child. On a daily basis, the children are given educational opportunities at community schools and in the homes on-site school room. Plus, children enjoy fun activities such as swimming, creating art projects, even learning ballet.  We are happy to announce that they now can enjoy learning to play musical instruments because Fender has generously supplied the home with an entire music room!  It is just amazing!!!

Tickets:  www.ridinforareason.com  tickets on sale soon!
Fundraising:  Demented Cycle’s vision is to make this “Ridin’ for a Reason” a yearly event where people from all walks of life can come and support past, present and future cancer patients through their participation. Through ticket sales to ride with the artists or ticket sales just to hear the artists perform, all proceeds will go to benefit The American Cancer Society.
Our goal for this event is to grow it larger every year. We want to raise awareness about all the good things that the American Cancer Society does and raise money so that they may continue to help families with loved ones stricken with cancer. Ultimately, we would like to make this event nationally known where people from all over the country come to be a part of a great event that helps so many families.
Demented Cycles teamed up with Texas Music/Red Dirt artist Stoney LaRue in 2009. With Stoney’s help, Demented built a custom chopper that Stoney will ride for two years and then auction off.  The proceeds of the auction will be donated to the American Cancer Society. When told what charity we wanted to build the bike for and why, Stoney immediately got behind the effort that Demented Cycles was supporting.
Nine out of ten Americans are touched by cancer in one way or another. This ride/concert is a fun way to get people involved with supporting the American Cancer Society, and an easy way for everyone to show that they care about lives touched by cancer.
